With the UAV LiDAR sensors of the RIEGL miniVUX-Series, extremely small and lightweight professional solutions for UAV-based surveying are available now.
The sophisticated design of the stable aluminum housing allows installation even where space is limited and where there are restrictions with regard to payload. A 360° field of view allows the acquisition of measurement data of the full surroundings.
The typical max. operational flight altitude of the miniVUX-UAV series is up to 525 ft AGL, the max. measurement range is 330 m. Laser pulse repetition rates of 100 kHz, 200 kHz and/or 300 kHz per scanner type result in effective measurement rates of up to 200,000 measurements/sec on the ground depending on the field of view and the operational flight altitude.
Combined with different IMU/GNSS systems and camera options, and in use with the proven RIEGL Integration Kit 300 or 600 - a hardware extension for easy integration with multirotor drones - UAV-based systems can thus be provided with optimal tuning to the respective application.
For UAV-based data acquisition from mission altitudes up to 820 ft AGL, the miniVUX-1LR is now also available, covering up to 500 m measurement range.
Thus, UAV-based data acquisition can provide accurate and highly informative measurement and image data for accident investigation, rapid deployment scene capture, and emergency management planning.
