SAAT ( Small Arms Ammunition Technology ) is an EDA ( European Defence Agency ) project to research and create a new calibre for ammunition. The project envolves 9 nations and 18 partners, coordinated by FN Herstal, Belgium.
The objective of the SAAT project is to analyze and optimize the performance of kinetic energy ammunition for light infantry weapons. Faced with changing operational needs and technologies in the defence sector, SAAT responds to modern issues, including the neutralization of future threats, operational efficiency and the interoperability between nations.
