Enforce Tac Conference:
It's a wrap
The new platform for secure exchange between the defence industry, suppliers, research and the electronics sector - powered by Componeers and NürnbergMesse.
Electronics Shaping the Future of Defence
With over 220 participants from 16 countries, the premiere of the Enforce Tac Conference was a great success. A total of 17 expert presentations on the use of electronics and IT in security and defense technology not only provided participants with a wealth of specialist information, but also stimulated intensive discussions with the speakers – both in the lecture rooms and during breaks in the foyer of the NCC East.
In addition to the wide range of presentations, divided into four sessions on strategy, sensors, drones, and intelligent systems, the keynotes and panel discussions were further highlights of the conference program. Brigadier General Dr. Volker Pötzsch from the German Federal Ministry of Defense outlined the current trend toward “software-defined defense,” including the challenges that need to be overcome in the very near future. Rohde & Schwarz Managing Director Alexander Philipp then explained the opportunities and new requirements that “Zeitenwende 2.0” (Turning Point 2.0) brings for the industry.
Colonel Dr. Markus Reisner from the Austrian Armed Forces gave an impressive keynote speech after the lunch break, clearly illustrating to the audience the drastic changes on the battlefield brought about by FPV drones and electronic warfare. Prof. Dr. Patrick Glauner, skyrocket.ai, then emphasized the already significant and growing importance of artificial intelligence for defense—and competently argued against the often negative image of this technology in politics and the public sphere.
Last but not least, two panel discussions on the topics of “Quantity or Quality – What European Defense Needs Most” and “Industry and Innovation” provided a lively exchange of arguments – between the panel participants, but also with the audience.
