The company Prototypa-ZM, s.r.o. was founded in the year 1993 through the separation of existing Arms and Ammunition Division from the parent state enterprise. The letters "ZM" in the name of the company are the abbreviation of Czech words "Arms, Ammunition". The company Prototypa-ZM, s.r.o. is a direct successor to world - wide known Czech arms and ammunition development and design centres, starting their business more than seventy years ago (e.g. Czech armouries in Brno and Strakonice).
