Session description
Every piece of electronics deployed in the field must be assumed to end up in adversary hands. Captured drones, radios and counter-UAS systems are routinely reverse engineered within weeks to extract protocols, build jamming and spoofing countermeasures and clone hardware. The talk first analyses attack vectors using documented cases and walks through the modern adversary toolchain, from Ghidra and automated decompilers to large language models. It shows what adversaries gain: cryptographic material, EW countermeasures, exploitable vulnerabilities and cloned export-controlled hardware. The second half covers countermeasures such as exploit mitigations, obfuscation, anti-tamper mechanisms and binding firmware to specific hardware. It also covers the constraints specific to defence: real-tim ...
