Drones, satellites and other sensors have made the modern battlefield almost transparent. The side with the shortest sensor-to-shooter cycle will prevail. The next step is a Kill Web that connects all sensors to all shooters, so that every target can be engaged as fast as possible with the most effective effector. This needs reliable communications from the edge to the core and a data lake in which data from different sources and classification levels is fused and assessed with AI. C4ISR becomes the nervous system of Multi Domain Operations.
